Hi Sturcken, be real careful now, if your tipping point is below 75mg or thereabouts, you'll be finding out pretty soon, that's for sure, and if you cut down by whole 25mg at once, a rather large 25%,, you risk very unpleasant w/d symptoms, very quickly. Maybe not yet with luck, and if that's the case it might be better to reduce your dose by 12.5% to 87.5mg, that is slice one of your 4 x 25mg pills in half to give you 3.5 x 25mg pills. Then, go with that for a while, no hurry. (Don't throw out the half left over, of course, use it the next time round) You have another question about to get liquid Q/seroquel on the US health insurance scheme, which we don't have here in NZ thank goodness, so can't advise you there, sorry. I can tell you how to get liquid Q from a compounding pharmacy though, if that's what you need to know, just ask.
Yes, you can do it, just don't rush it. I used a 7% cut and bombed out, I hadn't fully stabilised from the previous dose, ie, still has a whisper of anxiety and insomnia, and came a cropper, as they say, at day 14, and am stabilising now at the previous dose for a while. After I come back from my holiday in Samoa in a couple of weeks I'm re-starting the taper at my present dose but reducing the next cut to 5% and I think it should be ok, everyone is different in this and I'm a bit old now so that can affect things. It's all trial-and-error, what a pain! Hope I'm still alive at the end of it, that's all.
Hi, you may find it best to just get all your pills as 25mg ones. Even that ex-psychiatrist of mine recommended it. I was having trouble getting a 50/50 cut on them though, but found out it was mainly the surface I had the cutter on, it wasn't firm enough. Also the pharmacist said the blade can get a bit blunt over time so I bought a new one. I also got an electronic scale cheaply, from Amazon I think it was, that is suitable for weighing pieces of pills (though usually by jewellers), and I think very accurate. You should get your doses as accurately as you can otherwise it could vary a bit day by day, enough to upset our dear old friend the nervous system I've heard. I appreciate it's difficult though. Just do the best you can eh.
