Backups & Password Salting

My recommendations for the site. What is your situation with database backups? You must have frequent and secure backups in a secure place with a robust backup process because the data you are collecting is important and valuable. Are you properly salting the passwords? I am not sure what is the standard for hashing these days, but last time I did it there were many libraries available for that.
