Yes, we can calmly say we do not NEED them at all. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
I would say that Big Pharma has an excellent government lobby. They state unrealistic discontinuation schemes because it reduces their liability and attempts to make these meds appear relatively harmless.
However, like all tools, when used very conservatively in the extreme circumstances, they can be helpful if you heal psychologically and accept a slow, careful taper and the WDs they present.
We all know however that they are not prescribed in that fashion, and the general public is not yet aware of the hazards.
