8/6-8/7 Random bout of really low heart rate, from the cold?

August 7, 2026··
taper update
Does anyone get cold intolerance? Last night I called the paramedics because all of a sudden my heart started beating really slowly. It's done this before so I just ignored it for a bit. But then I felt like I was drowning. I couldn't walk without feeling super weak and like I would almost pass out. I sat down and still felt really bad. My heart rate sitting down was in the 50s. and walking was 60's. Usually sitting is 60-70 and walking is 80-90. It kept going for 30 minutes but it went away once I turned on the heater and full of adrenaline cause I was super scared. Today it is really cold (low 60F). When I go outside, even with a sweater, I can feel myself drowning again. In my room is really warm but it's kinda not helping anymore. It's weird because I don't feel like im TOO cold or TOO hot. I just feel slightly cold or slightly warm. I have also been seeing like shiny spots and dark spots in my eyes that flash for a split second. Im not sure if they are just my floaters or what lol

Hi Yoshi4844, sorry that happened to you. I personally haven't experienced anything like this, but I know some people do have issues with temperature regulation. I'm glad you called the paramedics. If you haven't already done so, you should follow up with your doctor and explain everything that happened. There are any number of things that could cause something like this such such as cardiac, thyroid, or electrolyte imbalance. The visual symptoms you describe should also be looked at by a doctor. Evidently brief flashes or new dark spots can sometimes be related to the retina, so you might want to get that checked out. In doing some research I learned that if you develop a sudden increase in floaters, repeated flashes, a curtain/shadow over part of your vision, loss of vision, chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or another episode of near-fainting, you should seek urgent medical care. In the meantime, you might want to continue holding your current dose until you can get these things checked out. I hope this helps! 💝

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg
