I have been feeling okay. I just had some anxiety yesterday because we were having company today. Weird fleeting chest spasms and my shoulder hurt from lifting a heavy box. I hadn't had the chest spasms for a month, so I still think it's paxil withdrawal, because they were happening about every 2 weeks before. As I've said before I had a stress test done and it was normal but my anxiety still freaks me out and says it's my heart. It really is so exhausting.

Where did you start and where did you end up? I wish so badly that I understood tapering before I got into this mess. I was rapidly tapered and had severe withdrawal And had to reinstate. I’m 5 weeks in. I’m so traumatized I can’t imagine tapering again.

@Masha , I started on 10mg of Paxil and took it for 5 months. I tapered to 7.5mg for 4 weeks, 5mg for 5 weeks then 2.5mg for 4 weeks then I stopped. I was taking a risk doing that and only time will tell if I did the right thing. I figure if I get through 6 months with no major symptoms, I made it. I have been getting some anxiety, weird chest spasms and other symptoms. I had more symptoms taking Paxil than I do off of it so far. It's good you are stabilizing for now, no rush in tapering again until you feel you are ready. I know there is a lot of info on here about 10% or less hyperbolic tapering. I definitely believe in that, especially if you have been on Paxil for a long time.

I wish I had researched more ahead of time. I trusted the “professional “ and am still going thru avoidable torment.

How long have you been on Paxil? I'm so sorry you are going through that. I do believe you will be able to start tapering again when you are ready and feel stable again.

I’ve been on Paxil for 20 years. Felt worse on it - through menopause and stress- so I tried taper and switch to Lexapro. But the NP tapered me from 50 ( too high for my dna) to 0 in only FIVE WEEKS. can’t describe the weeks of hell. Reinstated Paxil at 20 just to get stable. Still struggling… I lost 20 lbs in 2 months among many other things…. The ignorance is this area of medicine is alarming.

Aww, I understand. I struggle with the anxiety too. We just had some family visit, and it was very stressful for me too.

@Masha I agree with the ignorance of doctors on tapering these drugs. Praying things start calming down for you soon. 💗
