2nd Abilify Update - Feeling Fair

July 11, 2026··
taper update
Feeling fair before my next dose reduction. One thing I’ve noticed is that I’ve been constantly stressed for the past few days. Maybe it’s from the benzo cut I accidentally dropped it by over 20% when I took a quarter off a 3/4 tablet or maybe it's just the fear of tapering. I also got terrible back pain (2nd worst of my life) and dizziness, but that is okay now. It’s been 18 days since that xanax cut. Right now, I have this chronic weakness due to abilify, which is why I need to start tapering off it. But should I really start my abilify taper right now despite this illogical stress I'm facing? Could this actually be a paradoxical effect from the xanax not working anymore? I'm only on 0.25mg right now, the highest I ever went was 0.75mg, and I've been on it for less than 6 months total. If you have any advice, please let me know.

When in doubt, it's always best to hold and give your body more time.

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

Thanks for your advice. I am worried that after some few days chronic weakness might return right now its bearable after completing 7 days antibiotic course. Maybe I have low white blood cell count due to abilify thats why feeling better due to infection covered by antibiotic.

- Prozac - 9 days (adverse reaction)
- Abilify - 15mg -> 10mg -> 7.5mg -> 5mg - 9 months - actively tapering
- Procyclidine 5mg - 9 months - actively tapering
- Propranolol - 20mg - 1 year - holding
- Xanax - 0.25mg - 7 months - holding
