25th Effexor Update - Feeling Fair

March 28, 2026··
So i slept longer yesterday but late and short today as i had a good gig again and just „didn‘t want to sleep“. For now i‘m okey woth that, considering going on stage so often in the last weeks - this trade off is worth it esp. on weekends. I‘m feeling pretty okey rn and won‘t take a nap. Wanted to do a big training session today, but i guess i split it to tomorrow to not exhaust this brain too much and focus on healthy sleep again. I think i’m feeling better in general, there are only touches of sadness/hopelessness but they vanish pretty quickly and it doesn‘t conquer my mind! After getting my sleep schedule right i might consider a one bead taper soon, hard to tell when this will be but i‘m optimistic.

Steve’s taper progress

Performing is so stimulating and takes so much energy. I remember when I used to do it and was playing in clubs until the wee hours in the morning. It's great that you're able to balance all that with your taper.

These are all great things! Glad to hear it.

Sleep is so important, so it's good you're working on that. I'm at the point myself where my future reductions will only be one tiny bead. I've tapered too fast in the past and refuse to go through that torment again. Wishing you all the best! 🙂

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

It‘s so great when you start to have a rythm and the body stops aching and shaking but starts to grow, having pumps and straighten up! But getting in again is indeed hard, also my sessions always take longer than planned, hard to imagine how i‘ll implement this with full time work somewhen 😤 Maybe get an Ergometer with laptop attachement to get at least some blood running? But sure not the best way to get all the benefits of exercise 🤗 (btw nice job, iphone quoting works now!)

Oh that sounds great Catina, let‘s get us off and we sure can enjoy those days at least sometimes again :)

It did that aswell! And it worked until about the 33mg border. Nevertheless, it is tormenting and after all this time i also fear having those days and weeks again regulary. I also seem to realize i might have put myself in a protracted withdrawl situation and the last 3 beads taper was just too much and the superficial stability broke, resulting in the harsh symptoms of the last 2-3 months. I need to admit, i’m kind of interested to know how the next taper feels, i think my brain has catched up a lot. But not too fast with this ambition 😄
