Hi Hanna,
It's good your feeling better.
did you have tinnitus before you started Mirtazapine?
I never had tinnitus till i stopped Mirtz.
Mine is mainly a very, very high pitch ring which fades into the background during the day and eases away almost completely when I've been on a steady dose, but once in a while I'll get a very low rumble/hum in my other ear.
Do you get anything similar?
Mirtazapine β 0.2mg β 1 year β actively tapering
No I did not.
It began when I started to take Mirtrazapine. Now that I'm trying to get off the meds its worse. Some days it's a bit less, but always like a hissing zeeee sound in my head. More to my right ear.
I HATE feeling bad most of the time π especially in the mornings
Does yours ease away if you've been stable while on a steady dose?
Mine did, but came back quite bad when I stopped too early. At its worst it's like I can hear a smoke detector from the next room when I try to sleep, but does ease away when I'm stable. I've been through a few of these cycles.
This brings me to two points.
1. The tinnitus side effect of mirtazapine is massively ignored by the drugs company. Everyone I know on or coming off Mirtazapine has tinnitus.
2. Dr Horowitz and others state the brain always tries to achieve homeostasis. So the fact it eases or even disappears when I'm at homeostasis at a steady dose should mean it also disappear when my brain achieves homeostasis with no drug.

As @Catina sais. "Your brain and body know how to heal, trust the process and go on" and just HANG ON! ππ»β£οΈ
I believe this tinitus will also pass. This part I ignore by listening to soft music. If its too loud it als disturb me π΅βπ«
