1st Lamictal Update - Feeling Okay

Hi Sue, so I see that you're tapering Lamictal. When did you begin tapering it and how much of a reduction did you make? I'm sorry you're having those symptoms. Please check out the Symptoms and Self-Care section on how to deal with the issues you're having.

Hi Catina. I went from 200mg to 150mg April 2025. After 1.5 weeks psych had me go to 100mg and that was AWFUL. He said I had flu but took me back up to 150mg. I tried to taper again November 2025 to 112.5. Again not good, so back up to 150! Holding now because mood unstable. But, complicated by effexor to pristiq switch and then he took me down from 100mg to 75mg July 2025! Just a mess! Along with Lorazapam yoyo and then cold turkey off Sept 2025. My nervous system is so ever sensitized.

That's typical care from psychiatrists unfortunately. They're clueless about Hyperbolic tapering - no more than 10% per month. Withdrawal can cause flu-like symptoms.

Yes, that's quite a lot of changes, and our nervous system can only deal with so much at once. The good news is that things should improve as long as you don't make anymore changes. I'm glad you're using the Taper Track feature; I've found it very helpful. Please let us know how best we can help!
