I'm sorry your daughter has been going through such a difficult time. Within a month, the brain normally has adapted to the use of a new drug, so it's still best to taper at a pace the body can handle. Please keep us updated on how she's doing. ❤️

Even though she hasn't been on Seroquel for very long, it's still best to taper slowly so the withdrawal isn't as bad, and also it sets her up for a successful taper. From personal experience, it helps if you come off from a stable base, for me the Seroquel definitely can stabilise me from a serious period, however there is a fair bit of discussion on why people are left on them for many years instead of trying to taper down slowly once someone has been stable for a period of time. I've been stable for 17 years and was tapering Seroquel until recently, from 800mg to 300mg, but at that point I did miss a few doses as I was getting too drowsy and needed to work, some days taking only 150mg to get some more energy then 300mg the next, and it lead to a minor manic episode, which resolved once I realised and went up 100mg to a stable dose of 400mg, within about 2 days it fully went away and I'm holding on that dose now. My main reason for sharing this is to encourage not to be in a big rush to come off fast, personally if I had my time again and had the choice, I believe I would have wanted to taper off after about the 3rd month of being fully stable, then taper VERY slowly, as it's also well known that coming off Seroquel too fast (and other anti-psychotics) can produce something that resembles an acute psychosis or manic episode, where as it's actually a rebound effect from the medication withdrawal. I have the support of a psychologist which helps, as I can run things past them if I feel like something is wrong, but they don't always pick up on things as much as someone who is around me all the time, so really having someone able to monitor in the home while tapering can be a massive benefit, and I wouldn't be afraid to go up on the medication slightly if suspecting something might be occurring due to the withdrawal.
